About

Journey 2 You

Your Partner in Wellness and Weight Management

My Mission

After losing my father suddenly to a fatal heart attack at 64 years old, I developed a passion for prevention.  I thought, maybe I can not totally prevent a heart attack or diabetes or other chronic condition entirely, but I can hope to give someone 10 or 20 or more quality years, disease-free.

Core Values

  • Personalized Care: Every individual is unique, and I tailor my programs to meet your specific needs, ensuring you receive the support and guidance necessary for success
  • Collaboration: Your wellness journey is a partnership. I work closely with you, providing guidance while you remain at the center of the process
  • Integrity: I am committed to honesty, transparency, and ethical practices in all aspects of my work
  • Excellence: I strive for excellence in everything I do, from the quality of the programs I offer to the level of care I provide

My Background

I have dedicated my life to helping others achieve lasting wellness. My journey began with a passion for prevention and a desire for optimizing health and medicine, which led me to graduate with honors from Washburn University in Topeka, KS in 1992 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). In 1999, I earned my Master’s in Nursing from the University of Washington, also with honors.

In 2009, I turned my focus to Obesity Medicine and Preventive Medicine, where I found my true calling—helping people manage their weight and improve their overall health. I am proud to be a current member of the Washington Obesity Society (WOS) and the Obesity Medicine Association (OMA) and have been awarded the Certificate of Advanced Education in Obesity Medicine from OMA, ensuring that I stay at the forefront of the latest advancements in this field.

As a licensed Adult Nurse Practitioner, I specialize in serving individuals aged 17 and up. My focus is on helping teenagers and adults make lasting changes to their health through personalized, compassionate care.

My Story

I grew up in a family of five, the only daughter of an Air Force pilot, and had the unique opportunity to live all over the United States. One of the highlights of my upbringing was attending Punahou School in Honolulu for high school. I also swam competitively at the Division 1 level for Colorado State University.

Raising two amazing daughters has been one of the greatest joys of my life. I also enjoy spending time outdoors, particularly walking and hiking with my dog, and tending to my garden. I have a fun side as well—I collect Hallmark ornaments and love to cook, mainly because I love good food!

My faith plays a significant role in my life. I regularly attend Mass on Sundays and believe that my purpose on this earth is to help God’s people live healthier, more fulfilling lives.

Client Success Stories

I see Karin Heusted once a month and I look forward to it. My weight loss has been slow but consistent. She celebrates even my small wins when I don’t think I deserve it. Karin is so encouraging. She always has encouraging goals and tips and I do better knowing she’ll remember to ask me about the goals we set. I would not have been consistent with my weight loss without her.

Kelli

After 35 years of failed diets, Karin has finally taught me how to get healthy. Karin, ARNP is a vital part of my journey and I could not have done it without her. Highly recommend!

Susan

From the very first consultation, Karin Heusted’s warm and compassionate demeanor put me at ease. Her once-a-month sessions have become the highlight of my journey, as I eagerly look forward to her guidance, encouragement, and the invaluable tools she provides.
